My sweet little son Chris Isaac got severe cold once and was troubled with sneez and coughs. The doctor advised to do steaming thrice and put him on nasal drops whenever required. Isaac had very much aversion towards both steam and nasal drops.
I was running behind him to put him on steam. I was asking him "Isaac, choose any one, either steam or nasal drops, you will feel better then".I was annoying him continuosly with the options he had. He turned at me and said "Let's pray Mom!!!".
I was so surprised by these words of two and a half year old. Is that the Psalmist exclaims at God "Out of the mouths of babes and unweaned infants You have established strength" -Psalms 8:2.
We used to teach him regularly to look upon God for all his desires either it is a toy or a candy. And he repeated my words to me when I annoyed him to put him on steam. How smart are these kids and how they grasps whatever we teach them, thanking God for it.
For Isaac,it is much more easier to kneel and pray than to inhale steam or to take on nasal drops. So, he opted for his easiest choice. What a wonderful lesson God taught me through Isaac!!!
Very often we struggle with our own efforts, plans, strategies instead of the easiest and assured way PRAYER!! How often we would have lost our peace, sleep instead of trusting our Lord!!
"God is our Refuge and Strength [mighty and impenetrable to temptation], a very present and well-proved help in trouble." -Ps 46:2
Yes,prayer is the best and the easiest problem solving strategy and let's keep looking upon Him!!!
